| Terms of Reference | At least one award, valued at a minimum of $2,000, will be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria: - is enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility; - is in good academic standing; - is pursuing a bachelor�s degree in the Faculty of Environment at SFU; - is Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit); and - has demonstrated a meaningful connection to agriculture, this may come through any combination of academic pursuits, community or personal engagement, cultural teachings, traditional knowledge, lived experiences, or career aspirations to food systems, land-based practices, Indigenous food sovereignty, or environmental justice. Selection Process and Criteria Applications must include: - a personal statement of no more than 500 words outlining the applicant�s meaningful connection to agriculture, this may come through any combination of academic pursuits, community or personal engagement, cultural teachings, traditional knowledge, lived experiences, or career aspirations to food systems, land-based practices, Indigenous food sovereignty, or environmental justice. The award will be granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the nomination of the Associate Dean, Undergraduate Studies, Faculty of Environment or their designate. |
