Terms of Reference At least one scholarship, valued at a minimum of $3,000, will be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who self-identifies as a woman and meets the following criteria: -is enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility; - is a Canadian citizen or permanent resident; -is in excellent academic standing; and - is enrolled in one of the following STEM related programs where women are underrepresented within: - the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering; - the School of Computing Science; - the School of Engineering Science (except Biomedical Engineering); - the Department of Physics (except Biological Physics); or - the Department of Mathematics (except Operations Research). Preference will be given to a student who self-identifies as a woman and is enrolled in the School of Mechatronic Systems Engineering. The preference will be updated accordingly, as part of the review process for all EDI awards, at the discretion of SFU, when there is a change to the area in STEM where women are the most underrepresented. When students who self-identify as women are no longer underrepresented in STEM related programs, the scholarship may be awarded to any student enrolled in a STEM related program. The scholarship will be administered by the office of Financial Aid and Awards and granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
