Terms of Reference | At least one award, to a maximum of five awards, valued at a minimum of $2,000 each, will be granted annually in any term to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria:� are enrolled full-time during the term of eligibility;� are enrolled in the Indigenous Languages Program either for a certificate, a diploma or a degree;� are in good academic standing;� are Indigenous;� have a demonstrated interest in and commitment to Indigenous language acquisition, language revitalization, language research and/or documentation; and� have a demonstrated history of extra-curricular activities within Indigenous organizations.Applications must include:� a personal statement from the applicant outlining their extra-curricular activities related to Indigenous organizations, or Indigenous language revitalization initiatives or Indigenous community initiatives; and� at least one letter of reference from a member of their community such as a mentor, an administrator or a teacher.Contact the Indigenous Languages Program for application form and application deadlines.The award will be granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the nomination of the Director of the Indigenous Languages Program or their delegate. |
