Procedure Student Application
Terms of Reference At least one award, valued at a minimum of $10,000, will be granted annually in any term to an undergraduate student who meets the following criteria: - self-identifies as Black Canadian (citizens or residents of Canada who identify as Black, African-Descent, African-Canadian, or Afro-Caribbean Canadian); - is enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility; - is pursuing a bachelor's degree in any faculty; - is in good academic standing; and - has demonstrated community service within an organization of benefit to the Black community. Preference will be given to students who are involved with the Students of Caribbean and African Ancestry (SOCA), African Students' Association (ASA) and/or the Black Caucus. Applications should include: - a letter of reference from a supervisor or team member within the organization who can attest to the applicant's service or volunteer activities; and - a statement from the applicant outlining the positive impact of their service and/or volunteerism within an organization of benefit to the Black community. The award will be administered by the office of Financial Aid and Awards and granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
