| Terms of Reference | One or more awards, valued at a minimum of $1,000 each, will be granted annually to undergraduate students who meet the following criteria: -are pursuing a bachelor�s degree at SFU; -are enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility; -have completed 30 units; - are in good academic standing; -have made contributions to the well-being of their local, provincial, or national community; and -whose parents have never completed a post-secondary education at an institution anywhere in the world. Applications should include: - a statement from the applicant outlining the importance of being a member of the first generation of their immediate family to pursue a post-secondary degree; and, -a statement from the applicant outlining the applicant�s community/volunteer involvement; and -at least one letter of reference from someone who can verify the community/volunteer service and the impact of the applicant's role in that service. The award will be granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee. |
