| Terms of Reference | As part of a project called Build SFU, the Simon Fraser Student Society (�SFSS�) partnered with campus organizations to create new student space. The SFSS proposed the construction of a student union building and stadium at SFU Burnaby. The student union building will be student operated and a place for students to call their own. It will contain student space such as meeting rooms, department student union and club space, 24-hour lounges, and study spaces. As part of this proposal, starting January 1, 2014, the SFSS will be implementing a new membership levy of $10 per term for the purpose of funding construction, maintenance, and utility costs. The levy will increase by $10 on January 1 of each following year until 2022, at which point it will be capped and adjusted annually for inflation according to the Canadian Consumer Price Index (CPI). The SFSS will provide annual funding to support a bursary for SFU undergraduate students, called the SFSS Build SFU Undergraduate Student Bursary. This funding opportunity will continue until the Build SFU membership levy is no longer in effect. Undergraduate students who have paid the membership levy and also fulfill the following criteria in any term may be eligible to receive this bursary: is enrolled full-time in 9 units or more at SFU in any faculty and has demonstrated financial need. Based on the funding available, eligible students will receive a portion of funding from this bursary up to the maximum dollar value of the levy applied to a student�s account, in the term of application.
