Terms of Reference | The award, valued at a minimum of $1,000, will be granted in any term to an undergraduate student who has successfully completed the Back on Track Program or its predecessor pilot program, "Student Success Program".The applicant must be in good academic standing (a minimum CGPA of 2.00), and will have to have completed at least three consecutive terms, including the most recent one, with at least a 3.00 term GPA based upon a minimum of nine units of SFU schoolwork.Applications should include:- an unofficial transcript;- a current resume; and,- a 125 to 500 word personal statement about the effect the Back on Track program has had on him or her (which may be shared with the donor).Preference will be given to a student who:- was in the "Required to Withdraw" versus the "Academic Probation" stream of Back on Track/ SSP;- has demonstrated his/ her ability to exceed the minimum term GPA requirement for this award;- has demonstrated his/ her ability to maintain the required term GPA over four or more consecutive terms;- has demonstrated, through their resume and personal statement, that he/ she has experienced significant personal growth; and/ or,- has given back to the SFU community, with a particular preference given to a student who has given back in the context of academics including, but not limited to, a role as a Learning and Writing Peer Educator or a Back on Track Peer Mentor (should the latter program commence).The awards will be made by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee on the recommendation of the Manager, Back on Track Program. |
