Terms of Reference | One or more awards, valued at a minimum of $1,000 each, will be granted annually in any term to undergraduate or graduate students who meet the following criteria: - are enrolled full-time in the term of eligibility;- are enrolled in the Gerontology program at SFU;- are in good academic standing;- have demonstrated volunteerism in the community.Preference will be given to students with demonstrated volunteerism focused on helping elders.Application should include:- a resume outlining the applicant's community/volunteer involvement; and- a letter of reference from a community member who can verify the community/volunteer involvement and the impact of the applicant's role.If awarded to an undergraduate student, the award will be process by Financial Aid and Awards and granted by the Senate Undergraduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the nomination of the Chair, Department of Gerontology.If awarded to a graduate student, the award will be processed by Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies and granted by the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the nomination of the Chair, Department of Gerontology. |
